A native Californian, Rob Akins grew up surfing the waves of San Diego. Today, Rob gets his thrills by working with local, regional, and national companies in marketing their great products and services to the world.
A veteran of the wine industry, Rob has held key marketing positions which include the launch of Domaine Michel (now Michel Schlumberger), the debut and product positioning of J Sparkling Wine for Jordan Winery, and the rebranding of Iron Horse Vineyards. This insider’s view has given Rob a unique and useful perspective into the food and wine industry.
At Chapman Warwick in San Diego, Rob headed the company’s public relations division—creating and implementing many award winning public relations programs for clients such as pharmaceutical giant Sandoz Ltd. and Hyatt Hotels.
Today, as principal and partner of Akins/Berry Creative, Rob utilizes his varied experiences in public relations, sales, and marketing to a growing roster of clients.
Not one to sit still, Rob has served on the boards of the Arts Council of Sonoma County, and Slow Foods—and embraces life in Sonoma County with gardening, kayaking, hiking, food & wine, and producing gourmet olive oil for the appreciative masses.
