Growing up in the Arizona desert, Mark Berry was inspired by the contrast of brilliant sunsets against the subtle colors of the desert terrain. Today, Mark applies this concept to his graphic design for the marketing of products and services—contrast creates tension, which creates attention, which creates interest.
Mark’s early agency experience as art director for The Producers in Phoenix, AZ was formed by creating compelling campaigns and marketing materials for Greyhound Bus Lines, General Electric, and Pulte Homes.
This corporate marketing experience was expanded with a move to San Diego where Mark established Berry Design Studios. From high tech to high style, Mark worked with clients such as TRW Avionics & Surveillance Group, to Cabochon Tile & Stone (and most everything in between).
As Frank Zappa once said, “Art is making something from nothing and selling it.” As principal and partner of Akins/Berry Creative, Mark says, “Our job is to create a personality for the something—which sells it.”
A fan of design in all aspects of life, Mark dabbles in landscape design, architectural design, interior design and art, and also enjoys the outdoors in the form of hiking, kayaking, camping, and farming.
